    Event Description:
On Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 1pm the Conifer Historical Society is pleased to welcome  Peter Modreski of the US Geological Survey for a presentation on the Mining History of Jefferson County.

Gold, coal, uranium, clay and more!  The variety of mines will “rock” you!  The earliest mining in Jefferson County, and probably the only type that most people think about, was gold mining.  However, several other types of mining have taken place within the county. Join us as we learn about the mines near Evergreen, the South Platte, Buffalo Creek-Foxton area, Golden, Morrison, and Ralston Creek.

Come early to check out our free exhibit, which opens at 11am!  Held at the Little White Schoolhouse Museum, 26951 Barkley Road, Conifer, CO 80433
    Tickets are $8/$10 (m/n)
