]]> James <![CDATA[Twitter Feed]]> You can now easliy insert a Twitter feed onto your website through "Other Website Options". All you need is a valid Twitter account name to generate your code.  The generated JavaScript code can then be pasted into any web page.

]]> James <![CDATA[Weather Widget]]> Display a weather widget on your website. To create the JavaScript weather widget login to your administrative home page then go to "Other Website Options".

All you need is your Yahoo! location ID.  Visit the Yahoo! Weather page and enter your zip code or city >> click "Go" >> click on the RSS feed to the right. The location ID is at the end of the URL address (i.e. USNY0996 for New York).

The JavaScript code can then be pasted into your web page and/or Announcements section.

This new feature allows you to hide the system generated URL that appears with template designs and display only your domain name along with the page "home.asp".

This feature also allows you to place an audio file (wma, mp3, midi) within the frame which can be played as visitors browse through your site.

]]> James Hunt <![CDATA[Store Product Downloads]]> A new feature has been added to the online store which allows customers to download products immediately following their purchase.  In order to take advantage of this new feature you must use PayPal Express checkout located under your store option.

]]> James Hunt <![CDATA[Membership Autoapproval]]> We have added the ability to setup membership auto approval!
If left unchecked the administrator must approve all new members.  If this option is checked then visitors can signup for membership without the administrators’ approval. 
 
Our system will validate that the email is correct by sending a link that must be clicked to the visitors email address. 
 
To take advantage of auto approvals go to » Membership » click "Options" on the upper right-hand side of the page » check the first option and save.
]]> James <![CDATA[Formating website for handheld devices]]> Handheld browsers are usually mobile devices such as PDA, iPhones, etc. The screen resolution on these devices are usually smaller than your website so it may be beneficial to have an alternative home page for mobile browsers. 

First create your page under “Web Pages” and place it offline. Next go to “Other Website Options” and select the page from this list beside “handheld browser page”. Make sure you preview and test your page before saving it to your site.
 
Once this is done any mobile device with a screen resolution less than 425px will be redirected to this alternative home page. 
]]> James <![CDATA[New Online Store Features]]> We now provide multiple new store features with PayPal Express Checkout.  Express Checkout is PayPal’s premier checkout solution, which streamlines the checkout process for buyers and keeps them on your site after making a purchase. Below are a list of some of the features found in PayPal Express:
  • The shopping cart is within your website instead of PayPal
  • Shipping & handling is calculated by your website before the purchase
  • Sales tax is handled through your site
  • Sales reports and invoices can be view through your administrative site
  • Customer data is captured by your website including name, email, address, etc.
  • Ability to display the PayPal login screen in different languages

In order to setup PayPal Express Checkout you will need to do three things:

  • Create a PayPal PREMIER account
  • Create API Credentials - Login to your PREMIER account >> go to "Profile" >> click "API Access" >> click "Request API Credentials" >> select "Request API Signature".
  • Enter your API Credentials within our application. Click the "options" iconat the top of the stores administrative page >> select PayPal Checkout Express as your store type >> enter the API Username, API Password and Signature then save your changes.

You will now see two additional features at the top of your store menu on the left-hand side of your administrative page. Use "Shipping Methods" to add different types of shipping to your shopping cart and use the "Sales Report" to view sales and invoices.

Under each product you create you will also have some additional fields including:

  • Product Weight - to help calculate the shipping cost of each purchase
  • Handling Cost - additional cost that may be associated with a particular product when shipped

Within your online store you will now see "View Cart" at the top of your page.

If you would like for our system to send notifications for payment due to a separate email address then please enter it here.  By default all billing notifications are sent to the administrators email address.

Items that can now be modified include:
  • Font type
  • Text size
  • Text style (bold, italics, etc.)
  • Alignment
  • Spacing between menu links

Multiple options are now available for nested menu including:

  • Text color
  • Hover color
  • Background color
  • Pop out speed
  • Transparency
  • Shadow color
  • And more…

You can also apply advanced menu designs to your primary menu.

]]> <![CDATA[Forms - Image Verification]]> We have implemented an image validator on forms throughout your website to help fight SPAM.
 
Image validation inserts an image onto your form which has a random set of numbers and letters. The code must be inserted into the form field before the information can be successfully submitted.

This is a widely used feature that helps prevent spammers from automatically submitting online forms.

]]> <![CDATA[CSS - Cascading Style Sheets]]> Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is code that can be used on a web page to change the style of fonts, links, tables, etc. Our product provides the ability to insert CSS code within your website design that will in turn modify the format of your HTML throughout your site. For example: if you insert the CSS code a:link{color:red;text-decoration:overline} into your template then all page links on your site will be colored red and underlined.

In order to use this feature you must be knowledgeable of CSS code. Please use the following website as a resource for CSS use www.w3schools.com

To insert CSS in your template design go to "Website Design", choose your template then click the "CSS" button. You must use the naming convention provided by our application for CSS code to work on your site. Click the button to view and modify the CSS names available; when you do you will see groups of code that can be modified to change the style of a specific component or area on your website. For example the code below is used for the mini-calendar on your home page:

When using the CSS tool try inserting a little code at a time, save the changes then preview your site to see the results of the code. To convert your site back to its original style simply remove all code by clicking the button.

You can also use CSS code on individual application pages such as the Calendar of Events page. To apply custom CSS code to an application page go to "Web Pages" >> select your page >> click the "Metatags & HTML" button then click "Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)".
